MAKER FAIRE AFRICA - JOHANNESBURG 2014 - CREATIVE CONCEPT & MARKETING
Maker Faire Africa is an organisation that aims to create a space on the African continent where Afrigadget-type innovations, inventions and initiatives can be sought, identified, brought to life, supported, amplified and propagated. heART was tasked with developing the creative concept for marketing their Johannesburg exhibition in 2014.
The concept developed from the idea of merging the ideas of “Africaness” and elements found in the maker communities workshops around the globe. From this idea stemmed the primary patterns made up hundreds of individual electrical and industrial components that went further to create the larger scale pattern. These patterns were used in multiple variations and mediums to market the Maker Faire 2014.
